I joined weight watcher a little over a year ago and have lost about 55 pounds. I started when my daughter was 9 months old. I love how they have 2 programs now to choose from. I started out on flex and then did core for quite a while and then just switched back to flex. It makes me aware of what I am eating it especially helps when I write everything down. Portion control is a huge part too. I like that you can have anything you want as long as you write down your points and are accountable for it. It has made me aware of how much I should be eating in a serving. I have gone down about 6 sizes and I feel great. Oh I tried every other diet out there but this one is the only one that has really worked for me. I am more active, I don't get out of breath, I like wearing jeans now hehe.

Vicki, I completely agree with you about Weight Watchers. It works! Finally, I have gone back there after gaining too much weight (again), and it feels so good to be back on the program. I get to eat anything I want as long as I count points, and I don't feel deprived. And I love seeing a weight loss every week! Congratulations on your big weight loss...I bet you do feel wonderful.

Count me in with the Weight Watchers fans out there. I joined last year and lost about 30 pounds. Of course I got off track though, so now it's time to go back again. It's the only weight loss plan I was ever on where I didn't feel deprived. Journaling and counting points is definitely the way to go.

I did Weight Watchers a long time ago. It took a long time for me to see any results. I've thought about doing it again, but I don't know. If I did, I would probably do it online so I wouldn't have to go to meetings.

I don't think I could be successful with Weight Watchers if I didn't go to meetings. I get a lot of support and great information there. I have quite a bit of weight to lose, so even though I'm averaging a 2 pound loss every week, it will take a while before I really start to see a change too. I've only been going for 3 weeks. But I remember when I went there before...one day I just looked and went "wow, I look a lot better!". I try not to concentrate on how fast I lose weight. I just feel good about the weight loss each week, knowing that I'm going in the right direction. I have about 45 pounds to lose, and if it takes a year or more, who cares? I'll be a year older whether I lose weight or not. :)

I am a stay at home mom so for me it is an extra bonus to stay for the meetings. Not only do I get a night out for me but I get to interact with other adults and like someone mentioned you get a ton of great information too. I am also inspired by other people's weight loss stories. It is comforting to know that there are other people in the same situation that you are in and know exactly what you are going through. We have a great leader she makes the meetings fun and infomative. I had a banner week at the scale this week I lost 6.5 pounds. YIPPEE I couldn't believe it. So far this week I am on track and plan on staying that way. A friend of mine is .5 pounds away from her goal weight. She is definitely going to get it this week. I am so happy for her.

I'm so glad WW is working for you and that you find the meetings helpful. When I did WW the first time, I would have been happy with two pounds a week lost. I was following the plan religiously and was lucky to lose ounces. Really. I had to follow the program for a long time before I started seeing the pounds slowly add up. The meetings were OK then because I was there with my sisters and our mom.
I did try meetings again about four years ago. I hated it. I didn't like anything that was said and I remember being degraded at the scale. Yes, I should have just gone to a different meeting time, but I stopped instead. My understanding of WW Online is that instead of face-to-face meetings you meet in online chats and message boards.

The weight watchers message boards are not that great. I don't much like the way the forum is set up. They've designed their own rather than using something like vbulletin and it just doesn't seem to be as user friendly. There's not really a way to search old posts or anything. You don't have to join up to use their forum. It's free to join. But personally, I get the most benefit from actually going to the meetings.

LOL! I can't win. :D If I do WW again, I will definitely go to meetings, then. I know overall it's the best option.

I did the 2 week free trial of Weight Watchers online, and I liked how you could keep a journal and look up points, but in the end I decided to cancel before I had to pay for it. I go to meetings, (just started again), and I think that's enough. With Weight Watchers, I find it helps if I always have the right kind of food around, like Weight Watcher's cake if I need a sugar fix, or chicken breast for sandwiches and stuff.
