I know walking isn't running but I didn't see a place to put walking so I thought this would be the appropriate place.
I love to walk outside. But when I can't get outside because of cold weather I put in a Leslie Sansone tape. They are great. Has anyone else tried her tapes? She has all different tapes from 1 mile to 3 miles and then 30 minute tapes and 10 minute toning tapes. My preference is to get outside in the fresh air and take my daughter but I live in the Northeast and it is still a little chilly here. Walking is a great form of exercise.
Anyone else prefer walking to running?

I prefer walking to running - for one thing it is easier on your knees, and for another thing, my breasts are frankly too big for me to run comfortably. I've tried sports bras, but nothing helps. So walking it is! Besides, walking helps you notice the things around you more. I walk everywhere, to the store, to the bank, to my Weight Watchers meetings.

I have tried the Leslie tapes. They are great. I usually do the 2 miles in 30 minute tape. I have only done the 3 mile one a few times. That one is a workout. I think it is 47 minutes long. A friend suggested them to me a while ago and I feel so much better after I have done one of her tapes if I can't walk outside. I love to walk outside as well but weather doesn't always allow it unfortunately. I have a 2.5 miles route I try to walk at least 3 times a week where I live.

What are the Leslie tapes? I have never heard of them. Are they tapes that you listen to or watch while you walk on a treadmill? I've never heard of walking tapes before - it sounds interesting! I think that I'll go look google them and see what I can find out. I'll try anything that motivates me.

I like the Leslie Sansone workouts, but I CANNOT stand her. Even so, I'm thinking about getting a newer set of her DVDs. The videos I have are over four years old and the weighted balls are gone.
I can't run. My knees can't take it. I inherited Grandma's and Mom's bad knees. Both of them had knee surgeries by my age, so I must be doing something right. Even walking on a treadmill bothers my knees. :(

I bought what I think was her very first workout set off an infomercial over four years ago. I like the workout, but I don't like Leslie's voice and stupid comments.

I like walking. Especially when it's sunny and warm out. While there's nothing to really walk to where I live, there are things to see while walking.
The Leslie Sansone videos sound interesting. Have you lost any weight or inches doing them?

I have tried these too. They are video tapes that you do in front of your tv. They are not to be done on the treadmill. You walk in place, do some squats, arm raises, walking a little forward and a little back, some grapevines stuff like that. There is a girl on there that shows you how to do it if your range of motion is limited. I thought they were pretty good. I don't do them often enough to notice any difference. If I did them on a regular basis I am sure that you would see weight loss and inches lost.

I try and walk everyday. Especially when it is nice out and can take my kids. It is just getting nice here and have been out quite a bit. I have heard of Leslie Sansone but have never tried any of her tapes. Probably would be a good thing for me to look into for bad weather days. I am bound and determined to keep it off this time and exercising seems to be helping me out with this. I find that if I don't walk I feel guilty unless the weather is bad of course. I want to keep it off but I am not crazy enough to walk in a thunder storm:D

There is nothing like a good walk outdoors. I am fortunate to be in a place where the walks are scenic and not boring. I just cant run..I like my joints just the way they are..thank you. So walking gets 2 thumbs up!

Count me in as a walker. I used to run..but I became tired of sore joints and shin splints. I find I can get my heart rate up..and the blood flowing just fine on a good 2 mile walk. Plus..its a lot easier to take in ones surroundings. Dont you think?
