Do you have to be riding specifically as a work out, or will just a leisurely bike ride count as exercise? I'll go bike riding occasionally, but I assumed it didn't really count because it wasn't hard work.

What I've heard is, anything that gets you moving is exercise. I would consider bike riding, no matter how slow and easy you think the ride may be, a good form of exercise.

I agree...whatever gets you out and moving your body is exercise. Experts used to say that it didn't do you any good unless the activity you were doing was raising your heartrate to such-and-such percent, but now they've softened on that. Exercise is exercise, and it's all good.

Its always going to be an ongoing debate..anything thats gets you moving..and your muscles working is good. Personally..usually during the last part of the ride...espescially heading home...I like to push it...I like to have a bit of a sweat when Im finished.
Just my opinion
