Stationary Bike or Outdoor Bike

For people that bike which do you prefer a stationary bike or exercising outdoors with a regular bike. I had the bright idea of having my dh get me a stationary bike for Christmas one year. I have to be honest my behind hurt so bad after doing it for a while that it discouraged me from getting back on it. Plus I would rather be outside biking but in the winter it is a little hard to do. Where I live it makes it hard to get a good bike ride in. Traffic and stuff makes it difficult. My sister loves to bike and it doesn't seem to bother her at all.

Personally..I prefer to ride outdoors..I live in the country...and once we are off the main road...the rides are always extremely pleasant. I just couldnt see myself sitting inside...on a stationary bike..ughh..how boring!

I myself love the rides I get outside. I have a few very nicely done bike trails that I use on a regular basis. Ive never been a big fan of the stationary bike...boring if you ask me!
