I want to try Yoga. I've heard that it is one of the most helpful forms of exercise. I'm on a weight reduction program, but I haven't reached my goal yet and I'm still overweight. Every time I see a Yoga class there is never one overweight person in it. Is it too hard to do Yoga if you are overweight? Has anyone had any experience with it?

I would love to try yoga but haven't had the guts to try it yet. They offer it here at the local high school at night as part of an adult education thing. They offer all different stages of yoga from beginners to really advanced. I actually went to high school with the girl that teaches the classes but still haven't tried it. I am almost tempted to buy a tape and try it at home to see if I like it first. I heard it great for your entire body and it really is a workout. I would love to hear any feedback from people who do yoga or have tried it and how they like it.

I have Yoga For Weight Loss videos. There's a morning one and an evening one. And I haven't done them. What's holding me back? Hmmm. I'm not very coordinated and I worry about the level of poses. I'm one of those people who can fall down while standing still.

Who knows what holds us back from doing things that we know are good for us?
I'm not exactly a coordinated person either, but I'm thinking that maybe if I try Yoga it will help me be more coordinated, ya know? If I can learn to hold some of those poses, surely I could stop stubbing my toe all the time, lol

Yoga is good for a lot of things. One of the main benefits is it improves your flexibility. Even though Yoga is a mild form of exercise, it still seems to work really well for building muscle and helping with weight loss. Even if you think you are too overweight to do Yoga, you can still try it. You don't have to do anything that hurts or makes you uncomfortable - you just do what you can. It all helps!

Try Bikram yoga. That emphasizes long lean results. You turn the heat up really high and do the poses. You sweat a lot, but the payoff is great.
